This vase was thrown on the wheel in white clay, the design was then carved into the body and a complimentary glaze that breaks over the carving was applied. The Flower frog was cut from the same clay as the vase and glazed. As you can see the flower frog supports the stems and allows even a few flowers to stand tall, making even my attempts at flower arranging successful.
