I’m Libby Reader,  a potter who works from my studio in Upminster, Essex. I first fell in love with handmade pottery as a child when my Granny made me a toadstool as a gift. 

 

I have been learning my craft for many years now, and I find my inspiration comes from nature, the colours, textures and the plants and animals around us. 

 

My ceramics are made using stoneware and earthenware clay on the wheel and by handbuilding. Once fired, I either hand paint designs on to my pieces or glaze them using stoneware or earthenware glazes. Each piece is unique.
